Situated conveniently near local hotels, La Palma is a hidden gem that perfectly blends vibrant flavors with a laid-back atmosphere. With the warm, friendly service that you’d expect from a classic Mexican eatery, they aim to provide not just a meal, but an experience.
One bites into their breakfast tacos, an offering that has captured the hearts of many locals and travelers alike. According to satisfied patrons like Mike R., the ham and chorizo tacos are generously sized, ensuring that anyone who attempts to devour two should be ready for a hearty start to the day. These breakfast classics are made from freshly prepared tortillas and perfectly cooked eggs, coupled with the standout house-made red salsa that has people asking for takeout containers before they leave.
But it's not just breakfast where La Palma shines. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, including satisfying steak quesadillas that Lisa O. raves about. This dish is not only flavorful but also showcases the quality of the ingredients used at La Palma. Patrons can enjoy their meals alongside strong, delicious margaritas that make every visit feel like a special occasion.
For those looking for a quick meal, the drive-thru is a convenient option that doesn’t sacrifice quality, as noted by Daniel O.. The asada tacos and bean and cheese chalupas are sure to "slap," providing authentic taste without the wait.
With a comprehensive selection of dishes, including enticing combinations like the steak and chicken quesadilla wrapped up with delightful sides of sour cream and guacamole, La Palma caters to every palate. It’s a place where the flavors of Mexico come alive, and you can feel the passion behind every dish. So, whether you are visiting the island or just passing through, make sure to stop by La Palma Mexican Restaurant. It is, after all, a local tradition that many are eager to share with newcomers.
Indulge in your favorites, explore the menu, and experience what makes La Palma a cherished dining spot on the island. Don't forget to grab a Michelada to complement your meal, and before you leave, consider taking some of that amazing salsa for your journey home.

Amazing breakfast tacos, had the ham and the chorizo breakfast tacos with egg, be careful ordering two because they are large! Awesome service right off the beach so it's a must try if you are in the area. Also some of the best salsa we have had in a while so may have to come back for a to go of it on the way outta town!

Food was amazing! Steak Quesadillas in particular. Margaritas were nice and strong and very tasty for top shelf! Can't wait to go back.

Wife had a asada gotta and bean and cheese chalupa. She said it slapped lol. We hit the drive through it was quick and will go back

Nice little Mexican restaurant with a large selection of dishes. I got the quesadilla which is a combination of steak and chicken came with sour cream and guacamole really good

WE FINALLY FOUND A PLACE WITH BREAKFAST TACOS ON THE ISLAND. It's real close to a cluster of hotels and you must pick up or pay a visit. The tortillas are fresh and the eggs were well cooked. The red salsa was my favorite. I've noticed an island tax around here. Just that some items are pricier on the island. In my mind the island tax keeps these restaurants open year round. This one was so worth it!!!

As we draw towards the close of another year, from season to season, Fall (Autumn) to Winter; and now that the weather is finally cooling in South Texas, I find it appropriate to review what has become one of my favorite beachy Mexican restaurants: La Palma. It is literally on the corner where you turn to go to one of my favorite beaches on North Padre Island, Whitecap Beach. As such, it has been my go-to destination for epic Mexican brunches before or after heading there over the course of this Summer. It has great food! Really some of the best à la carte Mexican brunch in town (this is still technically "Corpus"). From what I can tell, most of the traditional Tex-Mex dishes look higher quality as well. Since most of my trips here are around mid-mornings, the crowd at those times is usually big mix of both tourists and "Islanders" (folks who live here). It's lively and a great place to "people watch". Never a dull moment. The service has always been great, IMO. Even when they are super busy. Nothing I can find to complain about there. Worth noting is that they will accommodate without any sense of awkwardness (no beans, rice or tortillas - no big deal!). In short, if you're ever in the area or on the way to the beach, consider stopping by here. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Great food and service. The restaurant is pretty casual. The portions are massive. I ordered the green chilaquiles plate which comes with beans and potatoes. I ended up finishing the entire plate and it kept me full until dinner time. I definitely felt like a beached whale when I hit the beach after eating here, but in the best way possible haha. I would come back here again.

I couldn't tell if it was open or not. As I swung the door open, there was mariachi coming from the tv, beautiful brightly colored walls and just a few customers seated. It's a very clean establishment inside. My server was very friendly, offering me a half off margarita or draft beer as the special today. Chips were white corn and the thin ones, which I prefer. The salsa was too spicy for me, but that's just preference and I'm in Texas after all. I ordered a pastor burrito and a side of charro beans. It's been years since I've had a pastor burrito and I was not disappointed. Elated is more like it! I was traveling solo, so I was in and out rather quickly. I'm going back in the morning for breakfast on my way back to my landlocked home state. Do not miss this restaurant!
